Introduction

The spiral classifier is one of the beneficiation equipment. It uses the principle of different settling rates of solid particles in a liquid based on their specific gravity to perform mechanical classification. It classifies and filters the ground material from the mill, then uses the spiral blades to feed the coarse material back into the mill while discharging the fine material through the overflow pipe. The spiral classifier, often referred to simply as a classifier, comes in several types: high weir single and double spirals, and submerged single and double spirals.
